With the realities of climate change starting to finally land, we are seeing a global shift by consumers and businesses alike to do things differently.
As more businesses start to re-think every corner of their operations from the office through to their production processes, we are seeing some new and exciting initiatives emerge. Offices now have such things as worm bins in their kitchens or basement, no printing policies, charge stations for electric vehicles and company fleets that are slowly being transitioned over to 100% electric. On top of that employee commute times are being heavily reduced with work from home options now becoming the norm.
However, amid all this rapid change and innovative thinking we see one key area being overlooked. Clothing.
The same companies promoting eco savvy waste systems in their lunch rooms are then going out and purchasing staff uniforms, promotional clothing and social sport apparel made from sources that are, well, far from eco.
With textiles each year using 215 trillion liters of water, producing about 20% of global waste water and 85% of textiles ending up in landfill or incinerated, it seems that one of the biggest polluters is staring us right in the face.
The reality is that most brands are wanting to choose differently, but knowing where to start can often be overwhelming. This is why we created LUCKE. We want to help more businesses and brands make the transition to eco friendly apparel and most importantly, we want to make the process easy for them.
We believe that change is possible and that doing business doesn't have to cost the earth. If you are keen to hear more about how your brand or business can move toward more sustainable apparel options, get in touch with our team. We are here to help.
